R. Gerald Turner, president of SMU, always says, "life is too short to go to a school with an ugly campus." (That might be an imprecise paraphrase, but bear with me.) While the UT Houston Medical School building leaves much to be desired aesthetically, the Texas Medical Center itself is quite beautiful, especially at night. I finally got the chance to just walk around the med center with my headphones in and my camera at hand, at sunset and through complete darkness, and the series of photos I post in the next week or more will be from that excursion.
Enjoy!
This isn't the actual medical school building where my classes are, but probably a research building owned by the school.

I think I should post a few Vatican photos from when I was in Rome in October of 2008. No particular reason, except that it was a great trip.
Really, over-exposure works sometimes.
Also this was taken on an old Canon Powershot rather than on my Nikon D90, so the black-and-white conversion is not quite what I would have liked. But better than some point-and-shoot cameras I've seen.
